Sharing is caring dear traveller; each week, a member of our knowledgeable team of locals shares their insider knowledge on what’s hot and happening in and around our nests.
More succulents than we know what to do with...
Working hard to fulfil our promise to create individual, design-led apartments with personality, we are delighted to have Natalie Papageorgiadis on board as our interior decorator for this project. Natalie is a multi facetted designer, who's love of creating interiors incorporates her work as a fine artist and influences taken from her experience working in Set Decoration for the British Film Industry.
Natalie originally trained in Art History in London and Berlin before becoming an Interior Designer in London for nine years where she designed large scale Hotel schemes for corporate clients such as W Hotel group, St Regis, Intercontinental, Four Seasons, Ritz Carlton and Park Hyatt amongst others.
The interior styling project Hudson's Yard for Cuckooz celebrates the history of the building, formerly used as an industrial furniture and brassware factory. The colour scheme is based on the original colouring of the building's exterior with artwork that is a mix of original paintings by Natalie and archive illustrations of East London's industrial past.
All hands on deck here at Hudson Yard!
Past projects have seen us collaborate with the likes of Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead of 2LovelyGays and Camille Walala. We are always excited to watch each designer’s vision unfurl as they draw inspiration from the neighbouring environments in which our apartments are situated. True to our ‘Live Local’ ethos, our apartments feature a variety of exciting, original work by local artists including Joe Gamble, Chris Martin, Libby Needham and Bryony Rosier.
Libby Needham’s prints portray charming illustrations of unique London buildings.
As always, we continue to faithfully support our ‘Rest for Refuge’ scheme, where we donate £2 of each night’s occupancy to women’s charity Refuge, supporting victims of domestic violence. We’ve managed to raise £2,000 so far…and counting! We’re privileged to support such a worthwhile cause, with 1 in 4 women experiencing abuse at some point in their lifetime. Visit www.refuge.org.uk/what-we-do/campaigns/ for more information on their latest campaigns.
We’ve been hot on the trail these past weeks scouting out all the best places to eat, drink and see nearby. It’s easy to be overwhelmed by the sheer amount of creativity that exists in Shoreditch – the area is quite literally thriving and even as locals, we’ve been surprised to see how many new up-and-coming venues have been popping up that we’re yet to explore. Here’s hoping you’re as excited as we are to watch the next developments unfurl!
Keep an eye on our website for details of upcoming listings and our much anticipated Shoreditch C-Z guide. Watch this space!
