At the intersection of London's financial hub and it's alternative cultural edge, Aldgate combines the London's trendy character with the dynamism of the city. Same goes for the culinary experiences offered in the area. From Spitalfields Market to more established fixtures, Aldgate is the embodiment of London's varied food scene. So much choice might appear overwhelming at first. We've narrowed it down so you don't have to.

A diverse, contemporary menu, which incorporates beautifully fresh sushi and modern twists on Japanese classics.  Less that a two minute walk from the Cuckooz Aldgate East apartments, the stylish Japanese décor is not one to miss, though overworked guests are not to be neglected – a take away option is available making sure all Japanese cuisine aficionados get their fix!

BURRO E SALVIA

From pasta-making workshops to truly one of the most delicious pasta experiences London can offer, Burro e Salvia is an Italian cuisine lover’s dream. GUNPOWDER

With the wide range of tastes Spitalfields has to offer, it’s quite hard to settle on just one. However, Gunpowder seems to take the lead in the race, the home-style Indian Kitchen putting a contemporary twist on classic Indian cuisine, upgrading comforting family recipes to impress the most refined taste buds.

SOM SAA

After a phenomenal crowd-funding campaign, Som Saa came to life in a former fabric warehouse. Bringing together the visions of MasterChef finalist Andy Oliver, daring Thai cook David Thompson and chef Mark Debbie, the Commercial Street location specializes in the exploding flavours of Thai cuisine, with unique concoctions setting it above all its other competitors. If you’re around, you’d be disappointed to miss it.

BLEECKER

Frequently voted best burgers in East London, if not actually the entire capital, Bleecker St is the one indulgence we can’t say no to. Developing from pop-ups on The Southbank, Kerb and more, the exceptional burgers have attracted more and more attention, becoming the crowd pleaser they are today. So if you’re looking for a guilty pleasure around Aldgate, make it this one!
