Don’t know what’s on this weekend? We do… Cuckooz Curates is a weekly blog dedicated to highlighting our picks of the best events happening in East London. We’ve done the groundwork so you don’t have to.
Live music at the center of Hyde Park has become somewhat of a summer tradition for Londoners in the past five years. Previous takeovers have included everybody from Taylor Swift to Patti Smith and this year promises to maintain its standards just as high. In a mix of crowd favorites and up-and-coming artists, BST returns with headliners from Green Day to Justin Bieber for weekend one, to Kings of Leon and The Killers the next. The slots are shared by house music extraordinaire Martin Garrix, new wave pioneer Blondie and even rock’n’roll queen Stevie Nicks.
While tickets are still available for the two-weekend residence, and we find it hard to believe there’s a better way to spend a weekend than jamming to live music in Hyde Park, British Summer Time has also prepared a selection of non-ticketed summer activities for the evenings in-between. The BST OPEN HOUSE is curating a series of summertime events, from outdoor movie nights to live screenings of Wimbledon Championships. The one installment not to miss announces to be Moretti’s immersive theatre, which promises the authentic Italian atmosphere delivered to you in Central London. And if there’s sunshine in the forecast, head on down to the Barclay Playground, or the swing carousel, with bungee trampolines transporting you right back to childhood.
