After a long, tiring week at work, all anyone wants is an exciting weekend to take their minds off of the ominous following Monday. I’m here to shed light on distractions that will make the weekend feel permanent... You’ll thank me later.
If you are looking to find the hottest movies with a great atmosphere, the LA Nights Beach Cinema is the place for you. For around 2 hours, it is time to escape your cocoon, grab a few friends and let all of your burdens vanish. Along with regular movies like Dumbo and Captain Marvel, the cinema has “sing-along” nights where you can belt out songs from Grease, The Greatest Showman and many more films. Tickets starting from £18.99 is a small price to pay for the joy that will follow. The cinema only takes place from July to August, though, so snatch your tickets before it’s too late… They’re selling fast!
PROMS: BBC’s “World’s Greatest Classical Music Festival” is back with performances from Yannick Nézet-Séguin, famous classical musician; Jonny Greenwood, former Radiohead guitarist and talented film music creator; and many other notable contemporary and classical artists. With the rise in other types of music, classical music’s popularity has decreased; however, events like this allow this underrated genre to shine. With 75 concerts throughout the event, it will be hard to find an event as unique as this one. Be sure to grab those tickets between July and September before they’re all gone!
The Walthamstow Garden Party is unlike any other party you’ve been to. From circus to theatre to dancing acts, there is never a dull moment. Since this two-day festival is free, there is no excuse to miss it! Be there on Saturday, July 13 and Sunday, July 14 at Lloyd Park for a time you will never forget.
