Sharing is caring dear traveller; each week, a member of our knowledgeable team of locals shares their insider knowledge on what’s hot and happening in and around our nests.

 

 

One of our favourite spots just got a brand new makeover in what might very well be the upgrade of the year. Old Spitalfields Market opened hits market and extended its stalls to handpicked food vendors of pop-up fame, offering them permanent fixtures in the form of their own little kitchens open to one and all. With its convenient location a stone’s throw away from literally all of our East London locations, our guests have their Sunday ( or any other day, really ) brunch plans sorted for months to come. With all the events on the rota and the selection constantly expanding, choosing might be overwhelming so we thought we’d select three essential stops on your food adventure. Here’s lunch and dessert being served.

 

Rök

 

Star of our C-Z guides and team favourite, the Scandi-smokehouse is a household name for us East Londoners. A hipster hot spot, their commitment to curing British meat has also resulted in critically acclaimed meals. For followers of the brand, the good news is that the Spitalfields market establishment brings innovation to the menu, by premiering some finger-licking good dishes that will be exclusive to this particular joint.

 

Sood Family

 

A charming group of Italians got together to form a pop-up in Broadway Market September last year – and my, how they have grown. Their authentic fresh pasta has been getting rave reviews and, thanks to a cult of followers, has lead them into taking their brand one step further. For all those who want a taste of Italy in the middle of East London, this is the place to go.

 

 

Happy Endings

 

Start with dessert – does that ring a bell? A few years back the stars behind Happy Endings came up with the concept of a meal in reverse – one that starts with the best part, dessert, basically. From then on, they gained notoriety and have had a cult following ever since. Puddings, soft creams, the ice cream sandwiches of your dreams – it all sounds like the happy endings of your dreams!
