Don’t know what’s on this weekend? We do… Cuckooz Curates is a weekly blog dedicated to highlighting our picks of the best events happening in East London. We’ve done the groundwork so you don’t have to.
Travel back in time and escape the 21st century for a weekend with the Classic Car Boot Sale, returning to King’s Cross for a weekend after a massive success last April. From a classic car show to wide selection of everything 20th pop culture related, from vintage clothing to live music and DJs, all will be available in Lewis Cubitt Square for two-days of vintage glam. And how convenient that it’s all a stone’s throw away from the new Cuckooz King’s Cross flats, opening next week…
Not just for vinyl lovers and petrol-heads, the Classic Car Boot sale is a glamorous rendition of those gatherings on English fields in the last century. The experience gets upgraded with the additions of mobile food vendors, craft beers and cocktails and some tunes delivered from the top of an open-air Routemaster bus, all to craft the most idyllic vintage atmosphere 2017 London can offer.
Anyone can take part, car owner or not, as the organizers aim to make the experience as inclusive as possible, pairing traders with cars and vice versa. Due to the success of previous editions, the Car Boot Sale is expanding and welcoming new additions. This September, a bike bazaar full of wonderful custom bicycles will be set up, with its very own virtual open road in a 3D installation.
If money’s burning a hole in your pockets and you’ve got a thing for period dresses and all things 40s to 80s, then look no further. The Car Boot Sale is probably the most Instagrammable shopping experience London has to offer and it’s located a stone’s throw away from our newest apartments.
